Provence of Cézanne

Paul Cézanne took his inspiration in  the splendid landscapes around Aix en Provence, making more than 60 paintings of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, which  forms a striking panorama. Take the Tholonet road to stand on the very spots where the artist set up his easel to paint his favourite mountain.

Provence of Pagnol

This is “Jean de Florette” and “Manon of the Springs” country.  The great and historic port city of Marseille, the charming little fishing port of Cassis and its picturesque rocky inlets called “calanques”, surrounded by white cliffs... This is an exceptional area to be explored  by sea or on foot.  The white stone base of New York’s Statue of Liberty was quarried in Cassis.
